Default looking for plastic bumper guard for top of rear bumper to protect from loading cargo..

I currently carry a carpet mat but was looking for something more permenant. I was thinking about buying one from another manufacturer and trimming it to fit the contour of the allroad's bumper.

Default I've done the custom cut vinyl strip thing (see sig photos)...

and it lasted for about 4 years. But now it is pulling up at the edges and looking like crap as water gets underneight etc. I'm think about now going to a local car dealer and having them mask off the small area (or I'll mask it) and do a truck like spray on bed liner on the top of the bumper. It should be cheap and much more durable and they can color match anything now...

Might be a better way to go.

Default A better option

I bought a black plastic one for my last Passat estate from Pep Boys online. Cost $25 with free shipping. Held on with double sided foam tape, heavy industrial stuff. Worked great and actually looked factory. I am strongly considering getting another one for my ar.

I can appreciate Audi and others wanting an upscale painted look, but many of us actually use our cars after they leave the dealership. IMO, a black plastic rub strip looks far better than a pretty painted bumper covered in scratched compliments of my dogs and trips to Home Depot.

Default that's the same one I bought

from PepBoys on line. Made by PowerFlow. At PepBoys, it is ~ $15 cheaper. Plus they have free shipping. Works like a charm, installs easily, and looks pretty stock.
