Mobil 1 (M1-204) Oil Filter Warning - All Audi applications for this filter have been revoked per
manf. due to inadequate thread reach issues. The nipple (threaded thing that filter screws onto) is too short (actually the threads on the filter's baseplate are too recessed) and there may not be enough contact to properly hold the filter to your car. If it falls off or leaks, you could suddenly loose oil pressure and/or most of your oil. In case you were wondering; this isn't good at all for your engine!

There not the only ones. K&N oil filters suffer the same problem,
as do Hastings, Champion and several others. Bosch barely have enough. They original tried to blame it as Manufacturing problem from Audi not tightening the filter mount nut and it backing up. I even saw a couple of filter manufactures notices telling the installer to loosen the nut and run the mount out several threads. UHhh Ohh!. Mahle, Mann and Hengst do not haven this problem.
