Which model years have the LATCH system...
...for securing child seats? I believe it is mandatory for all cars manufactured after 9/1/02 to have this, but that some car companies began installing it earlier. I haven't been able to find an answer to this in any of my online research, and haven't gotten to the point yet when I'm ready to talk to a dealer.
thanks.
thanks.

My Feb/2002 build allroad did not have the lower anchors.
I had them retro-fitted without problem or charge. In fact, other than an Oil Change, that's the only thing the dealer has been able to successfully complete... >:-(

Audi was offering free retrofits to all allroads
Get your dealer to check if they still are. Mine is a 2001 that I got in Dec 2000, and it now has both lower latch points fitted. I had to organize and pay for the first with much complexity but the second one was gratis some time last year.

Last week had the LATCH system installed
Took a while for my dealer to get the parts but they installed them for free on my 01 allroad. Great investment work much better than the belts.

I just had the LATCH installed in my '02 and the whole process was free...parts and labor. In fact, I check with AUDI USA and it is a service bulletin out for the AR. Be certain to have the parts people order 2 kits for both outboard seats. You can still mount the child seat in the center by using one latch from each outboard set.
