More pics of the RS4 wheel on the allroad. I just might have to get some next spring.

Interesting painting of the front & rear bumpers.

interesting paint job...
I'm personally torn as to whether or not I like the painted flairs or not. If it were a pure street car, I'd definitely paint the "gray" sections... like the new 2002 A4s... they have an unpainted bottom section that really bothers me. But the unpainted sections on the allroad is a huge contributor to it's uniqueness. Like the unpainted roof... kinda whacky, but I like it.
Anyone else have thoughts on this? I do admit I really like the paint job on this silver one. I didn't like the silver allroad because the contrast between the silver and unpainted was too much in my opinion... the atlas gray blends better. But on the pics on this post... silver looks very nice.

Hmmmm, I'm with you
I do think the paint schemes on our current allroad add to it's stance and personality.
But I saw an "Atlas" S6 with painted flares etc.etc And it was sharp (the Santorin that I saw had no detail, didn't like the S6 in the Santorin).
The paint scheme on the car in the picture is pretty nice. I think there are things you can do, but I personally like the color combination of our AR and I agree with you on the silver in both cases.

RS4 Wheel Question (Repost from below)
I notice that the RS4 wheel width is 8.5 inches as opposed to the 8.0 inches that are on the two available 18 inch tires on the Tire Rack web site. I'm wondering if you could mount a 255/45 tire without rubbing, particularly on Level 1. The 255/45 size diamter is still within 0.2 inches compared to stock and has a better load rating, which I would value for towing. I would be interested in the AVS db's for summer use and these do not come in a 245/18.

I don't think anyone has tried that size yet. 255's would definately fit on an 8.5" wide wheel
The question is will they rub on the allroad's suspension when mounted? They only way to find out is to try them out. There are also variances between widths amongst manufaturers. For instance the 225/45/17 Yokohama AVS Sports are about 1" wider than the 225/45/17 Bridgestone RE040. This is new territory that hasn't really been explored too much with the allroad.
The most accurate tire size to stock is 245/45. This is a 0.2% variance and the 255/45 is a 1.1% difference which is still acceptable. Lots of good options out there in the 245/45/18 for performance. I haven't looked at load ratings for towing.
