Default Is this to much for a 68K mile AR 6spd? $19,900

I posted this a while ago,
Response I got on the board said it was worth 16-17K 18K tops.
I have yet to find any 6spd allroads this cheap..

What do you guys think? Its in good shape...

I drove a 2001 6spd AR today (and it was snowing out.. perfect test). Its at a local dealer.
The car has 68K miles, was in good condition. One wheel (twin spoke) did have a pretty big curb mark across the face of the wheel.

The car ran and drover pretty good, did have a couple things I noticed

1) When I first started it, there was a faint squeaking under the hood, possibly a belt noise?
as the car heated this noice went away

2) There was a wheel shake when I first got out on the road, but this also went away as I drove. I think the tires may have been flat spotted??

3) The steering wheel was Very easy to turn more than any other car I have driven, is that the way they all are?

They are asking $19,900 which I thought was reasonable. Any ideas?
Also anything specific I should look for?
Bill

having just done a ton of searching for one myself, that price seems to be in the ballpark. Didn't really see any under $19k at all.

don't know the answer to your first question, but to your second, to my knowledge, modern radial tires don't really get flat spots anymore. This was something that happened much more in the old days of biasply tires. For a radial to flatspot from sitting, it has to be sitting a LONG time.

In mine I've noticed the speed variable steering much more than in my old A4. At parking lot speeds that wheel is very easy to turn. At higher speeds it tightens right up.

My dealer calimed my radials had flatspotted. Can be caused by constant under inflation. They sent me home with 34 lbs of air in the rear!

I think many people shoor for 32lbs and let it slip (my wife never checks her tires) and since the car calls for 42 front 39 rear, this could easily happen.

Agree that the steering is overboosted but relat fix is easy and reversible
