Kmesander

So, my lift compressor is almost always running and it sounds awful. A very load roar, sometimes it can go for a couple of minutes to 15 or 20. And there's no rhyme or reason as to which direction it goes, up or down. Also, even if the compressor isn't going off like that there's an extremely high pitched whine coming from the, what I'm assuming is, the fan motor, but I'm not exactly a mechanic, so I'm unsure as to how to remedy both situations. Any suggestions?
