My MPG dropped about 1 MPG w/my 18" 245 tires. Is this about what I should expect?

depends more on tread pattern and rubber compound, not so much width

I'm with Stump - stickier tires = rolling resistance, + width = friction. OEM tire aims to save gas.

Plus heavier wheel/tire combo requires more hp to accelerate too.

The chip and H-sports do cause issues with the mpg.
