Default n00b PhatNoise in allroad question...

I know this has probably been covered. I STFA and found way more info than I could process...

since I have the Bose unit with in-dash cd changer, can I add the PhatNoise? I'm assuming that I need the harness I've seen on Clairparts "for cars w/o CD changer prep."

How does it get tied in, and how do I interface it from the head unit? I know if it was a unit with the trunk changer, then I would switch to the CD function on the radio. But I'm assuming that I can still have my CD in-dash AND the PhatNoise?

Default 01 and 02 allroads have the cable in place already...

The PN plugs into the changer harness in back and becomes the CDC. Your in dash remains CD. They live in harmony - by design.

Default I haven't looked but...

I was told that I probably don't have the plug in the back for it. True, not true?

I only remember one button on the dash for CD. Am I missing it somewhere?

Default teddy, while you're here visiting...phatnoise postjack

Do you upgrade your program or "firmware"? Is there a reason to? My phatnoise works great, should I not fix what aint broke?

and Bluedog, don't delay. Get one it is great. The phatnoise website has all the info you need. (I printed manual before I even got mine to orient myself)

Default looked at your posts...

but I don't see the answers to these questions unless I'm missing something. Did certain years or head unit not have the CDC plug already there?

Cars w/in-dash changers are not wired for trunk changers, therefore you need the cable. Both units work after installation, you just press the CDC button repeatedly.
My dealer got it to fit inside the covered area behind the left wheel. Good luck. This is a great unit.

Default Yes... 6 CD in-dash

according to the link to Audio Unit info in TBG's sig... under Symphony II: "Controls for external 6-disc CD changer (CD changer optional)" and "The car comes pre-wired for an external CD changer."
