Need feedback from the DIY braintrust. Found oil down in spark plug channels.
 

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/104778/plug_oil.jpg"></center><p>I have a laundry list of stuff for the ar this weekend (it's quickly looking like it will be Monday as well!). Right now, I am tackling valve cover gaskets and cam chain tensioner seals. There are leaking pretty bad. I pulled off the passenger side coil packs and found oil in each of the spark plug cylinders. About the same amount in each. My guess is leaking round gaskets in middle of valve covers. The question is what to do with the oil before I pull out the plugs (I am replacing plugs as well this weekend). There appears to be about a 1/2 teaspoon of oil in each cylinder.

Any thoughts on what to do with this oil? How to extract? I'm going to try a few things and see if I can get it. Would it be wise to just sop it up with rags and then let any extra fall into the piston cylinders when I pull the plugs?

I lightened the picture as much as possible to see down inside. Not great quality. The oil is down all the way in the dark area where the threads start but you really can't tell from the pic. The entire dark area is oil.

I would use some paper towels or blue shop towels to soak it up. Roll it like a cylinder and place it around each plug. Your list just keeps getting longer. I'm up, in CO. if needed.

So far so good. Broke a 6mm allen off trying to get off serp belt roller. No big, the piece came out so back to Sears today. also, found that the T fitting by the collant reservoir was rotted and just fell apart when I removed those hoses. I remember this being a common problem in some other posts. Going to Lowes for that and will replace with metal if I can find one that works.

Might be time to clear my schedule for Monday. :-)

Ended up wrapping shop towel around screw driver and placing deep. Worked like a charm.
 

Took a couple of towel strips in each.
