Need some help comparing the NRWs
and the stock Pirellis for dry performance and snow.. Im pretty happy with the Pirellis in the dry but Im not too happy with them in the snow.. Do the NRWs outperform the stock Pirellis in both categories? thanks...

lol... Yeah, same for the Pirellis that came on the TT.. P6000s imo suck..
I used a set of kumho 712s for racing and they were awesome.. :/ So what would you recommend for a nicely balanced winter/sumer tire?

Re: The stock Pirellis seem to be best used...
I concur. I had to replace my stock Pirelli's as they were vandalized. Bought Yokahama's and now the 45mph vibration is gone. They are also much quieter as well as better traction.

Don't buy NRWs, they are old tech and on the way out...
Get the V rated Nokian WRs. They are head and shoulders above both the Pirellis and the NRWs in dry, wet and snow performance.

A winter/summer tire is a hard thing to find... but I've enjoyed driving on the Pilot Sport A/S.
So far they've seen a little snow, a little race track, and a lot of touring. =)

Yup... what he said.
The NRWs are being phased out and replaced by the WR. Unfortunately, Nokian has not made this piece of information 'public' because they wanted to deplete their inventory of NRWs before selling the WRs. Some distributors (esp in the midwest) have been unwilling to release ANY WRs until the NRWs in that size are all gone.
I ran a group buy on the WRs a few months ago and all participants have been very happy with the exception of one 1985 BMW 535 owner... he was hoping for better snow traction (draw your own conlusions).
If you search for Nokian WR, you'll find some good posts/reviews. As Chris said in his post, if you plan on running these year round and really want to maximize handling and performance, then get the WRs in the V-rated version (usually H-rated). The V- rated tires have a much stiffer sidewall. Unfortunately, they also run $25-30 more per tire.
FYI - the H-rated versions are more than capable and are far from soft.
