Now got 2 AR replacements

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/42603/audia6-infinitiex35.2.jpg"></center><p>After getting the A6 Avant to replace my Allroad, I already put 50,000 miles on my Avant.

And I wanted to get the Q5 but didn't want an SUV form.

I was surprise when I drove the Infiniti EX35. It's actually not an SUV, but a tall Infiniti G37 Station wagon. It drives like a car. The EX35 is not bulky either, not like the Infiniti FX35 or FX45. It gets 24 MPG on the highway.

It has all the luxury features that Q5 or Q7 has. Start/Stop button, bluetooth, voice recogition, ipod, park sensors, the best leather seats, etc. and much cheaper too. I couldn't believe the quality in the interior.

Motortrend tested it to run at 5.8 seconds 0-60 MPH. As fast as the 2006-2007 S4 Avant. The ride just reminds me so much of the allroad but much faster and more tech gadgets.

Doesn't seem bad.

But I hate the Infiniti interiors. Surprised you like that after having many audis. They have features, but lack function and seem cheap. I could never buy one. Even a lexus would be a stretch for me. Nobody can touch audi in this category.

Thats a decent 0-60 sprint for that car. Not a bad looking car either. Saw the Q5 the other day. Its ok. I do like the Q7 now. Its a SUV no doubt, but doesn't handle like one, nor does the X5.

I love my 2009 FX35

The EX35 is much shorter. How's the trunk space? Doesn't look like there could be much...

TwinTurboTerror 02-26-2009 02:58 AM

I don't know about the quality of the interior, but the interior is just plain ugly.

I hated Infiniti's interior for the last 5 years.. until you see this one!

No, the interiors for the last 5 years of Infiniti I hated. It use to look like Nissan interiors. But this is completely new and redesigned interior .. The EX35's interior is better than the G35.

You may want to look at this one .. I mean sit on the driver's seat. This is a completely new re-designed interior with a new cockpit.

Trunk is comparable to the BMW X3 and Audi A4 Avant. It's not as big as the AR or the A6 Avant.

But it has a power button to lower the rear seats and also bring it back up.

"...Trunk is comparable to the BMW X3..."

Can't believe that!
While the X3's interior space is nothing to write home about (back seats don't fold flat, for example), the EX35's rear is for growth challlenged midgets!
I could hardly get into the back seats.

Imo, if one is after such a car (performance, and hatchback), you'd bet better off with a Impreza STi or even a Golf GTI.

I still don't like it. I don't like the "organic" shapes the Japanese use.

TwinTurboTerror 02-26-2009 05:08 AM

We were talking about the trunk. You seem to be talking about the rear seating area.
