Under normal circumstances

<center><img src="http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/5903/img7052kv4.jpg"></center><p>the rings would obviously be better suited horizontally oriented but there was no way my daughter (nor wife) was going to allow me to use one of the larger pumpkins for my experiment.
