DLR Says "What Recall?" I say I have "the letter" DLR says "Oh here it is .....
Thanks for posting the letter Scot. I made a call to my VERY reliable dealer and they said never heard about the A6/Allroad recall. I called the dealer while looking at your letter and, VIOILA! Here it is, I found it.
Thanks from me, my three kids, fur child and wife!

They "found it"....
I did bring a copy of the notice, but they said that doesn't matter if it doesn't come up in their computer when they run your VIN. Anyway, they have to order the parts, I guess I'm the 1st one that has come in. No biggy, gotta bring it back in for the 45,000 mile service in a month or two anyway.

Re: I wonder if I can ignore this recall just like the dash fire recall?
Got my letter today only problem is what dealer in the New York area to take it to. To tell you the truth I havent heard anybody raving about any dealer in my area. I don't really trust them with my car! Can someone recommend a decent dealer in the New York City area that is fair, honest and not arrogant??

Mine just came in the mail today. I hope this also fixes my.......
faulty fuel gauge problem. Come home after work with 50 miles left on the computer and about 1/8 tank. Leave in the morning and fuel gauge shows empty and the computer says "Get your azz to the gas station now!"

I know that I will get my car running well with my indy and then take it to the stealer who is
in the habit of "fix one, break two"...so how bad is this really? And what if you wait until a leak would show up is there a "time limit" on this thing??? Just an inquiring mind wanting to know.

That's not faulty, it's just the computer optimistic from a high-efficiency end of commute home then
waking up and recognizing the same low fuel leven and higher cold start consumption rate and then freaking itself and you out. Besides, don't run it so low, more fuel reportedly keeps fuel pump cooler and gunk out of the pick up strainer (changed your filter lately?). Lastly, I suspect only that the repair happens via an access point without any tank removal. Anyone know more yet?
