Well designed yet there's a reason Audi does not offer this type of install ...
I would rather have my pulled load attached to the reinforced bumper mounting points instead of an area that was not engineered or designed to pull that many G's. Audi managed to get it right the first time. Get the Euro set up. You already stepped up for the RNS-e. Why have regrets about something unforeseen (that may actually devalue the car).
It really does say something about this car. So many are interested in the little known or not popular options almost five years after production has ceased....

It depends on what you are towing with it...
I've done the install on the OEM.
Its is solid as can be. The curtis will not pull as much nor protect the car from the weight, pshysics, etc. of towing.
However if you are towing a few hundred, I think you are ok.

prolly hitch rack w/ heavy bikes, lotta leverage, not much pulling weight
I wrecked the rear springs/shockes on my pathfinder carrying only 2 downhill bikes, maybe 20 trips total
one of them was 60lbs
Didn't go crazy when driving either
I imagine it wouldn't be good for the ar either
I could possibly see towing a rented/borrowd
utility trailer full of bikes for shuttle runs (which I don't own, nor have place to store)
that wouldnt be that heavy either

Tongue weight
The general rule quoted by hitch manufacturers is that tongue weight should be 10-15% of tow weight.
The Audi OEM hitch is class II, 3500lbs which means the suspension is built to take 350 lbs of tongue weight. You won't kill it ccarrying two downhill bikes. You shouldn't have killed the Pathfinder either.
The Class I hitch is 2000lb rated which gives you a permitted tongue weight of 200-300lbs. Even with the extra leverage of the bike rack those would be some porky bikes.
