Default Impressive; looks alot meaner, now just smoke the tail lights and you're pimping

I smoked my tail lights also while the car is in pieces right now in my garage with me painting the plastics (just front & rear bumper to complete). Should have it all back together this weekend, pics to follow.

Default The subdued look is nice, like they don't see you; stealthy, F-117 Nighthawk

Til you sneak in for the kill. The other thing cool about it is people see your car fly past them and they're like "what the hell was that; that's smooth" kinda thing. Meanwhile you're in the allroad thinking "they have no idea they just got spanked by a wagon".

Default That is exactly what I was looking for, stealthy!! Now that I look at the rear

again, I should get the 4 rings at the rear and the allroad sticker painted black as well. I just don't like chrome on any modern car. As for the smoked tail lights, I'm could never really warm up to them; however, all red tail lights would be ideal...

It didn't really cost me much since they repaired and re-paint both the front and rear bumper (scratches and dime size damages). They are a show-car paint shop and I knew the owner and got a friendly price.

Default Very nice, did some similar stuff to my 05, looking to do more...

Had tried painting my OEM grill black and had problems here in CO. Then bought an OEM black grill from Vagparts (had to buy new latch). And then painted the rings as well. I totally agree on the black rear rings, some of the hot S1's and urQuattro's had that. I have looked everywhere for them-have to just be painted. Curious, how did your shop paint the chrome trim under the headlights? I hate that. Have black roof rails ready for install, and painted S6 door blades body color as well. Headed for black side trims as well-then done.

Default You all forget that I already have the stealthy thing going as no one here knows what

this is to start with, even if they do get a glimpse at the four rings or the name

Default Agreed, I hate chrome also on any new cars, just looks un-european to me

I think with your color car you'd get away with the rings in black along with the allroad emblem. One things for sure, if you do paint them make sure you get a new set (always on e-bay) to paint, then swap them with the old ones.

Dental Floss to remove them, WD-40 will take care of any sticky residue.
