Poll - how often do you wash the a/r and who hand washes?
Weekly hand washing for me is sometimes not enough. Black just looks so good clean, and I bum on a dirty ride. Wheels need a sepparate mit and water; they couldn't hold more brake dust.
This weekend I drove through a mulch filled mud hole. Quatttro did fine, but crap filled the inside of the wheel. Low profile tires are bad in deep water, even with adequate body clearance in level 4.

It depends on the weather, Some times it will get washed two or three times
with sanded/salted roads (winter) I will hose off and scrub down with a (window washing brush. Or if I make a trip to the Valley/Bay area, I stop and wash/spray off road grim, even if I'm driving back that day. (It's nice to see the car clean , stops scraches for happening from people or myself rubbing up aginst the car.) Wax? The salt or what ever they use seem to strip off wax esp on the sides and rear with in a few miles, so after each wash I will use a quick wax spray detailer type product. (I hate winter only because of the damage caused by what CalTrans call road safty mesures. (Tons of sand on roads with no drainage (clog by sand) and poor engineering.) But then that's why I have an allroads.
