Default I'd agree. Have both and...

I was surprised at how even the owners manual case/booklets seemed "cheap" compared to my 2000 5 series. I was especially depressed when I got my 2002 VW - the case for it is WAY nicer than my allroad...

However, Audi gets major point for this; if you purchased a 2001 allroad (as I did) you received this really cool package from Audi that included CD-Rom, special stationary & 20th anniversary hardcover book of "Quattro history" featuring the allrod - 2001 model year allroad was considered a "celebration" of 20yrs of quattro... So I guess this was Audi's way of thanking (us) for 50 Grand!

So I let Audi "slide" for their shortcomings on the other literature..... 8-)

Default I purchased a 2001 allroad, and...

didn't get any of that stuff!! I didn't even get the fancy pen which is supposed to come with the manual.

I think the "give aways" differed from dealer to dealer.

Default Strange indeed if you didn't get...

...Didn't come from dealer came from AoA direct.

Even the package everything came in was this really thick (quality) silver box with the rings embossed on the outside. The hardback book inside the package came in it's own hardback cover which it sliped out from. ALong with secial brochures on road-side assistance,Audi Advantage, dcals/cards, etc. wrapped in a very nice silver "wallet" fastened with a (fake) leather band. When you opened the entire thing resting on top was the rice-paper like sheet that reas "Welcome to the Audi Family" with images of Audi's in the background...

I must sau many of the things in were worth framing! At first I was a bit "jealous" becuase the AR was my second new Audi and I didn't get it before - but I soon found out it for the 20th Anniversary of Quattro and the new allroad..
