Poor windsheild wiper design and performance
I recently purchased a 2016 allroad and can't believe how badly the windshield wipers perform during snow. The design is the primary culprit as the wipers sit in the tray with the snow and ice. Then the blade immediately gets frozen especially on passenger side and driver lower left. Additionally the blades themselves are too flimsy and thus when iced the ice hangs on until you pull over (or do the open window grab and slap). I have found I either have to run defroster full speed, keep the wipers moving at all times, or both. And this still doesn't really work. The dealer service rep (Prestige in Lakewood) said this is a known problem here in Colorado. Anyone experienced this same problem and, while unlikely, offer a solution? I can't recommend this car to anyone who really drives in the snow a lot.

I live in the northern United States where below zero temps are common in winter as are large snowfalls so I'm familiar with what you're describing. The only solutions are to get specific winter wiper blades, use the defroster, apply Rain-X to the windshield and clear snow from the wiper tray area.
