PSK done- how do I keep the pump from hitting bar? And plastic drop links??...
Got the rear bar on last night. Third one I've done, so getting pretty good at it by now. 35 minutes, with air tools, and stopping for a brew. Results even more dramatic on the allroad than on the previous A6's.
But- now the air pump vibrates against the bar. I wrapped pipe insulation around the bar to muffle the noise, but it is still present. What have y'all done to correct this? last 2 installations I did were A6s so I didn't encounter a problem.
And my allroad has PLASTIC drop links to connect the bar to the control arms. And they are flexible! Are all allroads like this? If so, is this to accomodate the height adjustments on the suspension?
TIA for advice.

The nylon drop links...
...were added in the 2001.5 builds (I think -- my June '01 build has 'em, but earlier ones had metal ones, which have broken in a few cases).
And the pump is a $#$%@ PITA. I've got stick-on pipe insulation tape on the bar and the pump (the part that wiggles) with a layer of foam pipe insulation in between. That deadens it almost completely, but I can still hear it on occasion.
There was a lot of discussion about a year ago about this, including a couple of rather elegant fixes. Do a search back 18 months on PSK and "sway bar" and you should find them.

My 2001 originally had metal link arms
I had trouble with a dealer install of the PSK bar. The dealer then switched the link arms to the new plastic ones. I then had the bar reinstalled by a local mechanic...no problems. I don't think the new more flexible link arms are the main reason why I didn't have a problem on the second install of the bar. I think it was because the dealer installed the bar without the car being loaded (i.e. did it on a standard lift where the weight of the car was off its wheels). The mechanic installed the bar using a drive on lift and thus loaded.

Install a tube or multiple washers to tilt the compressor away
I did this on my 2001 and posted instructions and pictures quite a while ago. If you search the old posts you should be able to come across it. Not hard to do.

Problem solved... with a hacksaw...
took the rubber mounting bushings and aluminum sleeves out. Shortened the sleeves by 1/2" and reinstalled. Still close but no more vibrations.
