Default PSK mod update

I have a "curvy road" that I drive regularly -- and have done so for about 10 years -- I know the road very well and I know my Audi's handling characteristics well too.

The set up is a straightaway about .4 mile long, there is a sharp right handed curve (just under 90 degrees -- and moderately banked). The yellow road sign shows a right handed arrow and is flanked by "15MPH".

All my Audi's since my 1995 S6 have been able to take this turn at 45MPH. In fact I use this curve to evaluate any car I am testing.

Now, my last Audi, a 2001 A6 4.2 w/sport package and 255 x 40 x 17" max perf tires would take this corner without much fuss or tire squeal (dry).

The 2003 allroad would also take the corner at 45MPH (set at level one 402 modded to -12mm) on the Pilot Sport A/S 245 x 50 x 17" tires -- but with a fair amount of body roll and even some tire squeal. Once or twice the ESP light would blink when I made this corner at that speed.

Now, with the PSK mod (rear 18mm anti-sway bar and bushings), the body roll is reduced noticably (I would guess 50% to 60%) -- the car still rolls, but the handling is more A6 4.2 sport - like. Very close.

The "fuss" -- the understeer -- is greatly reduced too. Overall the handling is improved and there does not appear to be any ride degredation.

Tires were set at f 39 and r 37, suspension level 1, road dry, temp about 73 F. Entered the curve at about 45MPH, at about the mid point floored the accelerator (I was in 3rd gear), built the revs up as I exited the curve and hit 60MPH just as the car entered the straightaway out of the corner.

If you have a couple hundred bucks that aren't doing anything, this is a great improvement and is at least a "9" on the grin meter.

Dealer did the work -- I spoke personally with the tech -- he said it was tricky but that he did not have to pry or bend anything to make sure the bar does not touch the air compressor. I have raised and lowered and played with the car since last night and I can find no noise or banging or vibration of any kind.

Success.

This board has taught me so much -- thanks for making my allroad feel "like a snake in a rat hole!"

Default : PSK mod update

Did the same to mine yesterday. Seem that nothing is touching.(I checked it a number of times after road testing) all different hights. That done with the 18/A/Ss. Now if the snow would pay attention and see that it is Spring.

Default try this...

with engine running and the car parked, cycle through all 4 height levels -- one right after the other. If there is a any hint of vibration noise, it should apprear in this test.

Bushings are separate parts, though (no true "kit").

Default Question for those of you who have done this yourselves

I just installed mine myself last weekend. The only way i could get it to fit was to have it inside the endlinks on the right rear, and outside the endlinks on rht left rear, is this going to lead to some problems later on? right now it feels like drives great. But i'm just concerned about the lack of symmetry
