I noticed in the A6 forum that you can pull out the rear vent unit to gain access to inside the rear of the center console.

From what I read, it seemed pretty easy in a '00 A6.

I've tried fairly forcibly to pull this unit out to gain access to the rear of lighter plug, but it doesn't seem to budge.

Is it possible in the Allroad or was there a modification on the '01 model?

Anyone had any success doing this?

I popped mine out (the entire unit, lighter and all -- not just the vents) with a putty knife slid between the console and the lip of the unit. It was pretty easy, relative to some of the other things I've had to grit my teeth to do. HPH
