Default re: winter tires and rims

I have some 16" winter tires and rims that I used for my 2001 S4. Will they work on my 2004 4.2 Allroad for winter (new allroad came with 18"'s)?

Default 2 inches too small.

The S4 tires are about 24.8" rolling diameter, while the allroad uses 26.8" diameter tires. Not gonna work right. If you make them clear the brakes and suspension with spacers and longer bolts, they'll still be 2 inches too small. Reduced ground clearance, lower speeds at a given rpm, and funny-lookin'.

With spacers they could fit but tire is too small. Speedo would be about 7% off

you can probably make the rim fit with spacers then get a 225/60-16 tire and you're set.

Default it will vary from tire to tire but 225/60-16 is about 26.6 not 1" too short.......

Default As noted, the tires are all wrong. However...

...the wheels might work, if they'll fit over the brakes and if you can find spacers to adjust the offset.

The first year allroads were out, Audi sold 16" 'winter' wheels for them, so in principle there's nothing wrong with this size. You'll need either 225/60-16 (about 0.5% smaller than stock) or 215/65-16 (about 1% bigger) tires. HPH
