Default Refrigerator

Anyone ever hook up a refrigerator in the back of their allroad? I haven't done so and I am off on a long trip with the family tomorrow and wanted to know if anyone had done it. Baby formula must be kept cool...

Default Keeps the beer cool.

Yes I have used a Fridge in the back. Kept it running for hours on kust the battery, and had no real problems.

Default I thought about this, but realized that any decent cooler with ice keeps things cold longer than...

you can possibly drive without stopping. I just use a regular cooler sized for that trips needs. Plus a smaller one can fit on rear seat floor and be reachable from front seats.

Default I suppose it's a little late for your trip tomorrow, but

to expand on RMcQ's excellent point, we have a couple of good (not-from-Target) soft coolers (http://www.ezup4u.com/tote/kooltote.htm). They insulate incredibly well, plus they're really easy to pack in with the rest of your luggage or stash behind the seat

Default Re: what kind of adapter do you use?

I use a standard cigar lighter plug, but not the cheap type you buy from car accessory shops. I went through 3 plugs before finding a suitable one. Main problem was the fridge was drawing a high current, which in turn caused the plug to warm up. Nothing to dramatic, but enough to effect the mechanical properties of the plastic, such that when it cooled down it was very brittle and just broke. I eventually opted for a plug from an electronics catalogue. It was of much superior quality, and made in Germany. If you really what the reference I can find it, bear in mind I am UK based.
