The only thing is that the second hand one might last a few months or longer if you get lucky. The best thing is to find a good website that sells it cheaper I was wandering how much K2audi spent for it?! (thanks

Default A4 - LED on headlamp switch flickering

Is the flickering indicative of an issue with the headlamps themselves, or is this just an interior lighting issue? Basically trying to figure out if replacing is critical. thanks.

My flickering is just on the headlight switch. The headlights themselves are fine. I decided to leave the problem alone since it is so minor.

Seems to be the case for me too - I'm sure I won't spend the money if its just the internal LED. Many thanks.

Weird. I have the same problem, more or less. With mine, the light flickers constantly but doesn't go out.

I find it strange that you need to replace the whole assembly - there isn't just a bulb you can replace? Or perhaps its a fault in the assembly???

Default FIX

The people Audi has soldering these should be fired. The fix is to take it apart, resolder all the bad joints, and put it back together.

1. With the light switch off, push hard in while rotating clockwise. The switch will pop out.
2. There are spring loaded clips which allow step 1 to happen. Then there are smaller plastic clips (4x in my 2002 Audi A6). Pop the smaller clips with a small flat head screwdriver. That should allow you to take the switch apart. You'll have to rotate the switch while pulling it apart.
3. Pop off the LED pc board using the flat blade screw driver.
4. Inspect ALL the solder joints. I had two bad joints.
5. Solder the joints
6. Reassemble ensuring the LED pc board contacts are tight.

Here are my bad joints:

Here's the switch taken apart:

I have the same issue in my 03 AR. I haven't tackled soldering new LEDs yet, but I found these repair instructions on a B6 forum. I believe the repair should be pretty much the same on a C5.

Most people use black sharpie to cover the wear on black plastic Audi parts. It works ok...
