Default RNS-E for sale in CT

I have a Gen 1 unit that is in great shape; all necessary connectors, new GPS puck etc and a 2007/2008 factory map CD (USA). Nothing is wrong with it (I wouldn't dump a junk unit on my bros) I bought it in 2008 when I got my RS6...so it's not that old (not new either I guess)

Plug and play for later models allroads....I needed a can-gate for my 2001 to have it work correctly (with MFSW) and have to rip out the old ****ty OE nav that is still there; not really into tearing into all that on my 190K mile car just so the wife can find another Starbucks.

This was out of my RS6 but is coded for any C5 with the 6 disc cd changer...easily coded for your particular car thru a VAG-COM by RossTech.

$925 shipped and insured in CONUS...or pick it up in CT. LMK...PM or email at : norris-j@att.net Yes, I can get pictures of it to you/here too. TIA

Hi

You only need the can-gate (itsa small input/output electronics box)if you have the 'multi-function steering wheel controls' (MFSW)for the radio (and want all that to work with this unit), as I understand it. I ran it in my allroad for about a week without using a can-gate...it worked great, its just that my steering wheel controls didn't work....the wife complained so back in went the old OE radio/CD player.

The later model C5s (2002+ I believe )already have it (an OE can-bus)The OE can-gate/bus is NLA thru Audi but sometimes you can find them used and a couple of guys were sharp enough to make their own, and sell them too. Please do the research to see if you require one...or can live without the functionality of the steering wheel controls if you have it.

No CD changer?, no problem (my RS6 doesn't have one)...it'll work fine , it does have the single CD player in it already plus 2 SD card slots so with 64 bits of memory; you supposedly can hold 10,000+ songs in them. SD cards not included btw....but they are only like $25-30 for 2 at like Best Buy or Amazon.

LMK....do a search here or over at quattroworld...there is alot of talk/helpful tips on this retrofit.

Just FYI you are limited to older SD cards 2GB or smaller. Newer ones will not work.

My mistake, yes, GTA_Driver is correct...the Gen 1 unit does use the older cards. Its still a whole lot more music than carrying a bunch of CDs.

The newer sat navs SD cards are capable of holding the huge amount of music.

$875 shipped now...cleaning the garage out !

19" RS6 and RS4 rims for sale too, no tires. 17" allroad 5 spokers with almost new Blizzaks as well. PM me. TIA
