Default Road Trip / Dog Advice

Folks - Im moving from Boston to Miami and will be driving down in the AR as you cannot ship dogs in the summer. Any thoughts or suggestions on hotels or motels that accept dogs? I can always do the "sneak the dog in later" routine but thought I would ask for comments.

Im guessing about 25 hours /3 days for the trip.

Default Marriott Residence Inns...

almost always allow dogs, are more like a home (kitchen and living room area), have grass around them and are generally nice and a good value (at least in the Rocky Mountain region)

Best Western chain is very dog friendly. On their web site and in their hard copy book of hotels and their specific ammenities they have a dog house icon for places that allow dogs.

Default W Hotels by Westin/Starwood LOVE dogs...

...they even have dog beds that they will put in your room, and a doggie gift basket to make him/her feel welcome.

Default Yikes ... but at what price

I had to do a lot of travel to Chicago. Downtown by the Sears Tower. The company put my up at the W that is with in walking distance. It was $300 a night. And the room wasn't that great. Best Western's that I prefer are only $55 a night.
