Searched but not able to find what I'm looking for with regards to setting up SiriusXm.

Car: 2004 AR with symphony stereo. Factory iPod cable is hooked up.

Called and activated siriusxm over the phone. Confirmed several times the radio id#. Tried 4 different times for sirius to beam the refresh signal to no avail. Never could hear an ad or any sound via the SAT feature. I could however see all of the channels, rock, entertainment, etc..

Wondering what I might be doing wrong? The iPod connection-I believe only should affect the in dash cd changer. Maybe I am wrong?

In any event, looking for setup/troubleshooting help. SiriusXm 'tech support' I believe is in India and reading from a script on a screen.

I may be wrong but I thought the Symphony radios can only switch between 2 aux inputs, such as the CD player and satellite receiver or CD player and an Ipod.

The sat radio cable was probably unplugged from the head unit for the iPod connection. I believe it is possible to have both, but requires a custom cable so it's not straightforward to do. You probably have to pull the headunit out of the dash to see what is connected.
