Skidmark, you are correct on beer can sleeve-destroyed!!!...
Took it apart and it was in bit and pieces. Nothing really was hurt but the sleeve was gone in less than a day.
Cleaned it all out, got out all the little bits in the air lines, lubed the piston with white lithium and put it back together. Works fine, no more nuts in a blender noise when pumping but only time will tell if I destroyed it.
Now that I have done it, I should have shimmed the ring with a beer can rather than sleeve the cylinder. Live and learn with DIY.
Anybody know how where to hook up an LED to the pump relay to see how often this damn thing is actually running?
