So I put 18.71 gallons in my tank today. I literally sputtered into the gas station. NE1 beat that?

Somehow I SPACED the fact that my car was on E for about 30 miles or so. I was SO lucky to find a gas station in time. I was about to have to get some unplanned excercise.

ha, no, but.... I put $62+ in the tank today... NE1 beat that?
3.48/gallon in Blain... I think you guys have it about .20 or so cheaper.
I would have filled up earlier but I was coming back from Canada and was trying to get across the boarder on fumes to avoid getting royally screwed at the pump...

Ugh...that's not even a "close call" anymore, that was more like russian roulette ;-)
usually a fuel injected car should never be driven that low on gas, perhaps some injector cleaner additive would prevent from nasty surprises that might sit in the fuel lines and wait to cause you a headache.
But 18.7 seems like a new record.....and I'll try not to beat that ;-)

$270 odd in one week last summer....
I was coimmuting 1000 miles a week in a '71 Land Rover between Phoenix and Tucson. PETROL WAS $3 a gallon and the wind was blowing the wrong way so fuel consumption was impressive in all the wrong ways.
It was fun if a little deafening.

I fill up 3-4 times a week... $150-200 total....
I don't get to write off mileage but I do get $.485 per mile.... with gas prices where they are I am not sure I am coming out ahead anymore.
