Default So I went to the Track this sunday ...

To test out my 1/4 mile times... I've never raced at a track before, so the first 2 runs, I had no idea what I was doing.

I have GIAC X-Chip, Labree Downpipes, with a high flow cat, and Miltek exhaust, and RS4 clutch. Also did the Darintake mod as well.

1st run, I line up, I see the 2 lights, I see these yellow lights going down the line.. I thought it was a test.. Then I see green, and my friend in the s4 next to me takes off. I was like.. DOH!!.. i'm supposed to go. So my reaction time was a 1.8..haha.. I hit 14.628.

2nd run, I lined up I saw the 2 lights.. I was ready, then my car rolled a little and the second light went out, but I was already staged, and i didn't have time to backup ... I bogged my launch and hit a 2.263 60' and 14.578 at 96.88 mph.

So my last run of the day.. I'm getting the hang of it I THINK!... I get up to the staging line.. both lights go on, I'm ready, and bottom light goes off.. I'm like "damn... oh well"... I take off, I get a decent launch.. 1.958, 60' and 13.992 1/4 mile at 98.82mph. my 2nd to 3rd gear was delayed a little too.

The only other AR that i can search that has or had similar mods was skidmark. He hit a 13.729. That should be my goal.

I guess the fact that I didn't clean up my car, and had a lot of junk in there didn't help. I had the full spare and my box and amp in the back..haha...

Now I'm addicted. I want to go back to E-Town to do a few more runs and improve. I'm too lazy to take out my box and spare. How much time do you really think it'll shave off with just that 50lbs if anything...?

Usually 100lbs will correspond to .1 seconds in ET. Obviously on a heavier car this may be less and a lighter car more.

Default Wow. 30 yrs ago with a '69 Z28 I ran 13.4's, and that was with a V8

Old '69 Z28, with the high revving 302 V8, M22 close ratio 4 speed, 3.73 limited slip diff, Sunoco 260 fuel. But it was on Bias Ply Firestone Wide Ovals (F70 or G60-15 as I recall.) Every launch was an exercise in restraint or the rear tires would just go up in smoke. 13.4's at 108-110 trap speed.

Amazing what 35+ years of technology can do- A V6 station wagon with AWD can now run similar times, and handle a whole lot better too. Damn, I'm getting old.

Default 100lbs = .1 second ;-)

Nice try and not so bad after all, next time you go just drop me a note or call and I'll cheer for your car, E-Town is 20 minutes from my place.....never done a Drag race either.....Tip-tranny, no good ;-)

Default I think I might head there this friday night to do 2 or 3 more runs..

Hopefully I'll be able to get down to 13.7-13.8.. then I'll be happy... i plan to do K04s within the next month or so. I want to see the improvement I get after K04s.

Default Cool runnings ;-) I'll certainly try to be there, and if you go with K04 then you'll drive circles

around some of these Ricers ;-)
I'm off tomorrow to Pocono, driving the F2000 and hopefully get some nice video footage.

Default Awesome runs for 1st time! When light went off on 2nd run it meant you deep staged.

Not sure why some people do that, but they do.
