Default Spring project update... motor is out!

Well finally got the motor out today. It took me close to three hours of heavy profanity to remove the clutch slave cylinder, major major PITA!!! It was just in an imposible location.

After that major hurdle, everything came out with no problems.

That's a lot of work just to detail the engine compartment.

Default The clutch slave is held by a clip, just a tap with a screwdriver and it slips off.

Just kidding! Good work.

Default You're a brave man!! I wouldn't dare attempt that. nicely done

Swinging motors in an older muscle car is my limit. Too much potential for scew-ups under the ar's hood.

Default Oh I'm feeling it this morning... Advil is my best friend.

Yea.. that was my only engine pulling experience, a '66 mustang 15+ years ago. There was so much room in that engine bay.

The audi is a bit unsettling, so say the least. I have so many things floating in my head right now, I can't even focus on work. Almost everything is electronic so it only involved disconnecting the plugs, kinda easy. I gave the engine a thorough once over to make sure I didn't shear anything off. I'm just hoping it will start when everything is back together again. I'm getting plenty of reassurance from the B5 S4 forum. Plenty of guys there pulled engines with no problems.

Default well, while it is out.

check out what StreetCrawler(cole) is doing to his S4 2.7T motor:

(see what you can see in the thread, but he has new pullys, new polished forge diverters, new red valve covers, samco hoses that are color coordinated to air temp (blue for inflow, red turbo to intercooler, and orange intercooler to input.) and of course, K04s etc.)

https://forums.audiworld.com/rockymtn/msgs/65767.phtml</a
