Stongard, et al questions
Wanted to get some input on why folks here went with the particular clear front-end protection product they did. From a price stand point, invinca-shield seems to be the way to go. Same 3M material as Stongard (right?) for a whole lot less $$$$.
Stongard claims they are a better product because:
1- Fewer seams- only 2 less than invinca-shield.
2- Wraps around edge of hood, etc. But the close ups of frau_allroad's Stongard installation seem to show no wrap over.
3- Warranty- but it is secondary to your insurance, so does it really ever pay more than your deductable?
What makes Stongard worth about $140 more than invinca-shield? Does the invinca-shield kit come with everything you need to install, or is the installation solution extra?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Stongard, et al questions
I went with the product put on by the people in Delaware because, at the time, I thought that was the closest place to get it done. I wanted to have it done professionally, because I knew it would be a pain in the neck to do myself. Now, I am finding out there are many names for basically the same product, and
Invincashield is also a 3-M product just like all the rest.
Mine does cover and wrap around the hood, without overlapping.

I went with ClearBra.
My reasons are:
1. Custom install - I didn't want to do it and the material is cut on site to fit my car and there are no seams.
2. Thicker material. Stongard & others are 8 mil thick vs. 12 mil for the ClearBra (I beleive it is 40 mil on the headlights & fogs)
3. Better coverage - I was surprised to see on frau allroads that the pieces did not cover all the way to the edges. The clearbra actually is wrapped under the hood for 100% coverage.
Total on the allroad was about $500 (12" up hood, headlights, fogs, & mirrors and top of rear bumper)

http://www.clearbra.net</a
