Default Strange sound

Sometimes after backing up when I put the allroad in drive and turn the wheel to the left and start moving forward, I hear a sound that is between a whoosh, a hiss, and light scraping. It continues for a short while after I drive away, but then disappears. This only happens after the car has been sitting for awhile.

Any suggestions?

Maybe air suspension trying to level out after the shift in weight/momentum?

Default I didn't get it, when do you hear that sound again?

Might be several things (not in particular order):
1. Power steering pump, if wheel turned all the way to either side, or
2. The tires do a noise rassembling scraping on all Quattro Audis (AWD for that matter as well) when you make a sharp turn.

Does it do it only when you turn left, or does it do it when you turn right as well?

Is it really cold when this happens? Has it recently rained?

Not cold because I live in Houston, but it does rain frequently.

back out of driveway, angle with back of car to right, turn wheel to left, start moving forward....the sound continues for awhile - have not noticed it to the right, but will do more checking

Default Could be something binding after the rain...

maybe the pad is sticking to the rotor or the water has binded a moving part temporarily.

Hmm, might be a belt that's loosened and needs tensioning...

try lightly applying brakes (to take any play away from pads) and see if any change
