Is there a simple way to have the fog and parking lights on WITHOUT the xenon's?
#2
It has been done on the S4s and A4s. Link is to article in the Tech section of AW.
We have a different switch so it is probably different. You might want to ask on the A6 board.

https://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext11.shtml</a

Two ways to accomplish this thanks to our A6 friends - which do you think is more reliable?
The link below goes to a message on the A6 forum which deals with a simple modification within the fuse box.
The following site https://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec43.shtml shows a more involved process for accomplishing the same thing.
What do you think about the processes? I'm going to look into it this coming weekend.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/102809.phtml

Is My allroad different?
strange I can use the fog lights, front and rear without the headlights on, just the parking lights.
Or am I mistaken and you guys are talking about setting the Fog lights so they are on without any other lights.

Aren't you in Europe? Or Australia? - If so, then yes. But no if in the U.S. 8-)
U.S. spec Audi's are "modified" to not allow the fogs to operate independantly from the main headlamps... Bummer! 8-)

Pet peeve - why would you want your fog lights on unless it's foggy?
While I realize some will take offense, I'm not trying to be offensive. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. This is mine.
I find it annoying to get the glare of fog lights in my mirror when it's daylight and the mirror won't self-dim. It's only mildly less annoying when people (especially SUVs) run with their fog lights on on a clear night.
Fog lights supplement headlights in foggy conditions. That's why they turn off when you activate the high beams - if conditions are such that you are running with your high beams, you don't need your fog lights.
My only vindication is when I see people that want to be cool, so they turn their fog lights on - front AND rear. And, of course, having the rear fog light on in normal driving conditions is a dork siren <g>.
If you're cool, you don't need to draw attention to yourself by running with your fog lights on. The fact you have an allroad is sign enough of your superior taste, intellect, and coolness.

hey, just get the wiring for Canadian daytime running lights. That is how they are with the DRL running (fogs+parking) If you manage to get that done, let me know, I live in Vancouver and I am dying to do reverse engineering to disconnect my DRL
