When I got my '99 A6 Avant, I saw the seat belts in the back and thought I had the third row seat. But alas, no seat was to be found. So does Audi install the seat-belts on all Avants and Allroads? Seems like a waste. I owned a Volvo 850 wagon before this and the third seat kit included the belts.

Anyone have a third seat they want to sell?

3rd row seats. Audi will be happy (as I'm sure you know) to sell you the seat, or maybe someone whose kids have outgrown it may sell you theirs.

Pre-allroad, the A6 could be ordered with or without the seat, but could always have a seat put in. Once the allroad started production, you either ordered your A6 with the seat, or you got nothing back there. So, all earlier A6's were prepped for the seat, and could have one popped in.
BTW, definitely tint the windows, and air circulation back there is aweful. But it's VERY handy, since I now own a 7 pass. car with good handling, great speed, and the ability to go offroad. Name another?

Are you indicating that there is a third row seat package that can be purchased from Audi and then dealer installed? Do you know the price of this package installed? I sold a Toyota Sequoia before I purchased my 2003 allroad and the only this I miss is the third row seat. Any suggestions on what my options are for installing a third row seat would be appreciated?

available from the dealer. If you haven't got the belts for the 3rd seat, you can't get them dealer installed, at least not for any reasonable cost.
