Default Those who have used hitch adapter/OEM hitch/bike rack set ups, any issues with failures?

I'm just about to pull the trigger on getting a hitch adapter for my OEM hitch, and a Softride Access rack for the back. Always worried that on a long trip or something the levered weight will cause the hitch adapter to fail and the whole thing (including my bike) to crash on the pavement and get crushed by a semi. Should I worry about this? Thanks!

Default No problems with mine...

...but I had my hitch adapter fabricated at a hitch welding shop. We only have two bikes on, but it rides very solidly. We use one of the Yakima racks. I'm not familiar with the Softride Access product. If you want more info on the adapter, see my sig.
