Default Tip tranny stuck in 3rd or 4th.

Any ideas what to look for with vag? Any limp or safe mode to reset? Reverse works fine. D and S are stuck in 3rd or 4th and tip changes do nothing. halp!

Default the codes will tell you

once you get it scanned , should be a hard fault, probably either trans gear range switch, oil/water in multipin connecter in front of trans, or the dreaded bad TCM. on some of these it will reset but comes back soon after...once the code is read than we should be able to tell you how to confirm problem through value blocks

Default It is fail safe mode, it is the design of the system.

There is something major with the Tranny. Resetting a code is simply fixing a symptom and not the cause. If you have a warranty then off to the dealer. If not, then check your area forum for a suggestion on an indy trany shop who knows Audi Trannsmissions. Keep in mind, that delaers are trained to REPLACE components and not repair them (=$$$).

Default 1-2 miles, drive it...

any more, then tow it. The Fail Safe is designed to allow you to "drive to safety".

We had this under warranty with our 2001 A4. Same symptoms, warranty gave us a complete new tranny.

Default Dealer said just drive it in...12 miles.

They gave me an 07 Porsche Boxter for a loaner, woot!
