Default Tires at the end of the lease? Opinions?

I am getting to the end of my lease period.. and I have made a lot of noise here about what to do with the car.. (Thanks for your patience as I figure it out)... but I think I am going to turn in my 03 ar 6MT.. I am just sick of dealing with the dealer. I am going to do an indy inspection first too, but unfortunately I need to turn the car into the dealer, and the tires are just close enough to worn that I am wondering what to do. The rears are relatively worn on the outside edges, but okay otherwise. I might flop them side to side, but I don't get along with the local dealer, and I am sure that when its time for a subjective opinion they are going to make me pay.

Any advice, besides new tires? Don't the Certified cars get Pirelli allroad P6's anyway?

Does anyone want this car? If I can beat $21,500 my payoff in June)(43K miles, bone stock, black, single spokes, winter mats (needs a couple new Nokian WR's) I am more than willing to keep it in the family and sell it to an interested list member...

Thanks.

Default the dealer should not do the inspection...

this should be done by the indy inspection company Audi will send to your home or office.

The don't drive the car, the look in side, the walk around. The two times I did this, it saved my some paint and body work that the dealer would have wanted. It also saved us tires as they did not look at them.

In the end you are given an estimate of costs to repair..if anything is needed. Its then your option to do so or pay the cost after the lease when they bill you.

A week or so later, all the dealer should do is sign for it, and check the miles when you drop it off.

Default I have some legal enough P6 ar tires you can have for shipping costs

they're noisy and cr*ppy as ever, but you can replace some or all of yours if you're at the wear indicators (shame, shame if so!) or have badly uneven wear.
I think that as long as your tires are road legal (more tread than the wear bars height along the full width of the tire surface), and matching, you're clear on the lease inspect. Any smooth edges or belts showing or wear indicators touching pavement is not only dangerous, but will earn you a ding.
After turn in, it's up to the dealer at their cost to bring the tires up to certified resale standards, not your cost.

Default Audi Financial lease? If so, their inspector should be scheduling an inspection

with you 30 days prior to the end of lease. It will be an independent third party company that will come to you for the inspection. They'll provide you with a copy of the report. If you need tires, you'll have the option to get them yourself so long as the specs (size, speed rating etc) are correct. And if the report only indicates needing 2 tires, you'll onbly need to replace those two to astisfy the lease turnin.

Don't be so sure about the kindness thing, but we'll get those tires to you.

Default Yup, but if the inspection report just calls for two, that's all you technically

need in order to satisfy the lease.
