TPMS questions: About to buy a friend's 4.2 18s with TPMS monitors before he sells car...
will his car throw a code without the sensors "out there"? Or what have people on the forum done if they put different, non-sensored wheels (maybe snows) on their TPMS-equipped cars? Finally, do I have to buy a module to retro the feature in my car? thx.

I just turned them off via the menu options so it stops beeping...
but when I VAG it, it shows that the system was turned off and I forget exactly what it says but it also shows that the wheel sensors are out of range or don't respond or not working. It will not throw a CEL if you put non-tpms wheels on their. I suppose if you choose to keep tpms, you can buy the sensor from the dealer.

Nice. Thanks. To make my car have TPMS, do I need more than just the sensors?..
Or can I grab the control module out of my friend's car and just install it in mine? thx.
