Default Trying to decide S4 Avant MT or Allroad 2.7T MT?

No kids yet, probably 2 years away. Avant is a must as carrying capacity is importsnt to me. Passeneger comfort... I do not care, though my wife does. I got her thinking Allroad after she wanted a TRUCK. So going to S4 Avant, will not be easy....

Default S4 avant is fine for no kids, however the back door opening is pretty small

so some people may feel it's uncomfortable climbing in and out. Once they are in the S4 is comfortable, however! I'm 5'11 and there is no way anyone can sit behind my seat in the S4 comfortably.

so if you need a car that will travel well with 4 adults and stuff, the allroad or A6 are the audi choices

Default Rear facing child seats in the S4 are a very tight fit. The passenger seat...

has to be almost all the way forward. Once you start hauling stuff like strollers and pack-n-plays, you will appreciate the additional room in the allroad.

Default allroad 2.7T.. you get that cool suspension level thingy...and it's bigger

plus you'll still have fun driving it.

Default I have a B6 S4 and an Allroad and don't have to move the seat forward...

As a matter of fact, when I have my 10 month old in the car he is behind me and I don't have to move my seat forward at all. For a point of reference, I am 6'1".

Default Gotta be the allroad. Unless your wife's car is large.

As much as I love the SA Avant, the day you and your wife come home for the hospital with your new baby in two years, you're gonna need a lot of trunk/cargo room. I mean A LOT. The S4Av may be more fun now but there's some serious obsolesence built into it if you're planning a family.

Good luck.

Default Do you put the handle on the car seat down?

Our Graco with the handle down and mounted in its base required the passenger seat to be nearly all the way forward when we fit checked it in the B6.

Default We switched to a non-carrier car seat as soon as it was possible and...

before getting the S4. So I must admit that I didn't try the configuration that you did. I guess I am lucky that I didn't have to make the choice :-D.
