Default Turn signal flasher relay- where is it?

Turn signals light when lever is turned to either direction, but don't flash. My emergency hazards do flash.

I think I have to replace the turn signal flasher relay, but I do not know where it is or how easy it is to do this. I don't have manuals, or Vagcom, etc. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks!

A search of "flasher relay" in the allroad section will give you a lot of information... you will need it. It is behind the emergency flasher button it requires finesse to access.

I need to change my relay as well. It acts up and does not work all the time.

Does anyone have pictures of the removal of the trim piece? All the links shown below and on a search have no pictures and I don't want to mess up trim pieces.

The trim piece pushes straight on, it has about 10 very small clips glued to it.

Gently pry the trim up with at Popsicle stick or similar non-maring tool... start at one corner on the bottom and lift by a millimeter or two and make your way down the long edge doing the same until it pops up. Repeat on the top.

When you replace it - push straight in.

Wait 'til they tell you the cost of this piece. My wife's turn signals started acting buggy and it took me forever to trace it down to the emergency flasher, especially since the problem was intermittent.
Then they told me the price. $180.00.
Good Luck.

Wow. Just one more reason to DIY. Takes about 10 minutes, and the part is ~$40

I might try cleaning the contacts first. The emergency flashers all work perfectly.

At worst, I will take it to the dealer and have the warranty cover it.

well, I got the trim piece off today, but how does that flasher module come out?

I saw the link to the part, but I still don't see any clips or anything.

Is it simply pushed into a receptacle with no retaining clips?

Any clips to hold it in appear to be all the way in back where you can't get to them.

I'd rather ask than break something...
