Default Update: finally got my ar back.

New transmission installed. Bummer is it seems to be in a super-slow-smooth program - but that's just the excuse I need to try out my new VAG-COM...

For you lurkers considering buying an ar, think twice... nay, three times... before buying one out of warranty. I like my car, but I think buying it AA is the smartest thing I've done in a while. (Though since it has 45.6k miles, it was still covered under the basic warranty. But 2 months from now...)

New transmission:
Parts: $9694.14
Labor: $1605.50
-----------------
$11,299.64
WOW!

BTW, they also put in the LATCH anchors for me, for which they billed Audi $142.82 P&L. And paid $327.60 for the rental car, since they don't have loaners. Total bill (of which I paid 0.00) $11,770.06.

Footnote: I'm not sure which was worse - driving a 4-cyl rental car for 10 days, or noticing how little fuel it used in that time!

Default Ray, glad you got it back.

I have had far less problems with mine than you have experienced...so my opinion is completely different....but I also have AA...so I have comfort in that.

You should try to swing by my house on Wednesday, we are installing my H-sports and I will have all my new hoses done and new DV's in place. Andrew may be coming over as well if he can get the time off work...

BTW...my car feels like it is in super quick mode...oh yeah, I got APR ;-)

yeah, if you drive it like hell, it will shift faster and hold the rpm's higher. it really does learn from your style. my parents borrowed my allroad over the summer, and when i got it back the shifts were slooooow and smooth. i tried my best and got them back to nice and fast, though
