update on JBo's car (ex-PzKW Kommandant and Milpitas2.7T,you guys read)
RobYSo drove to Allentown,Pa from NYC to try his ecu in Jeff's car which I think was a great thing for Rob to do.(Rob, hope you made it home safe and wife wasn't too mad for you being late : ) )
1st thing we noticed that was weird is Jeff's car has an A box and Rob's has a K box. Even though Jeff's car is older then Rob's by 3 months he has a newer ecu(this is confusing).
Rob's ecu didn't work in Jeff's car(didn't think it would), but we unhooked the maf, and took Jeff's car for a ride, and no more throttle cut. Does this mean his maf is bad? Is there a way to test the maf with vag tool? Rob thought of it as we were leaving, that we should have put a maf from his car, or mine, in Jeff's car to try(D.oh).
Jeff's car has multiple reccuring codes.16805/16815(both banks 1 and 2) warmup catalyst effieiency below threshold(I think this means his pre-cats are not working properly).<JEFF CHECK THIS 2 OTHER CODES>17887 brake vacuum system mechanical malfunction(which has something to do with automatics) and 17965 Charge Pressure Control Positive Deviation(which I believe is caused by his car surging/he gets 500 or 600 mbars more boost then requested)
Jeff is going to run some logs for 002,003,115 with maf unhooked today but is there anything else he should do?

With the MAF disconnected the car will run off lookup tables in a limp like mode. Not a real limp, but not full power. You can run a log of the MAF with VAG. If there is a problem it will show up.THe converter effeciency is interesting. If the A/F mix is way off it could have killed the converters either by melting or poisoning. I thing the vacuum signal to the booster has a problem, but this could be related to the converters. If they are melted it will cause excessive backpresssure and poor vacuum. Could be a broken hose too. The charge deviation, well we've been fighting that on from the start.

ygm, Jeff sent me logs and i forwarded them to you
they look pretty crappy, he gets surging and throttle cut even with the maf unhooked but the car actually felt pretty good when Rob,Jeff and I went for a ride in it

It was nice meeting you and JBo. I made pretty good time getting home (picked up dinner) and I tell
you, women- they can be so impatient when it comes to food. Especially expecting mothers. =)
Hopefully, we can get his car sorted out. You already know what I think he should do.

Hey shtaes and RobYSo - really appreciate you coming over...
glad you both made it back OK and it was really informative. I have already sent my logs to Milpitas2.7T to see what he comes up with. As soon as he emails me, will let all of you know.
