Used 2001 allroad with 70K miles?
Should I have any reservations about buying an used 2001 allroad (6 speed) with 70,000 miles on the clock? Looks like I can get it for around $20K (looks like it has nearly all options except navigation). The car will be checked out, but is there anything in particular I should look out for?
I would be planning on doing some mods (so I'm not concerned about not having a warranty). Probably things that I wouldn't with a newer car with say only 20K miles.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is the price reasonable for a 70K mile car, or should I just walk away from a 70K mile car?

Re: Any way to get it audi certified, for the smaller things? Who knows
can't get it Audi certified, but a local Audi dealer has check out the vehicle and given it clean bill of health. Unfortunately, we're not in CA. If the car is cheap enough, I won't worry about failing turbos -- I'll just replace them, probably with an upgrade ;-)

Re: I think you can find some with lower miles for not much more.
I've seen some with 60,000 - 65,000 miles for about $25K. Is that in line with what you've seen, or are you seeing better deals -- if so, can you point me to the right places.
I'm figuring that the $5K saved by accepting 10K extra miles can buy alot of mods. but if the savings is actually less than that, well I guess I should reconsider...

Re: As an owner of an '01 with 71,000 miles it concerns me that my car would only fetch $20K
Yes. I suspect it might. With 71K on your allroad, are you experiencing any problems or have you needed any major mechanical repairs?

Re: Used 2001 allroad with 70K miles?
Recently got another offer for an allroad -- 65,000 miles for $24,000. (in contrast to the 70K mile car, this one also has Navigation and the Bose system (which I suppose together is probably worth a few hundred).

is a 3yr/36,000 mile warranty for $1,800 worthwhile add?
they have offered me a 3 yr/36,000 warranty to go with the car for $1,800. So it would covered up to just past 106,000 miles. The warranty is from a seemingly reputable source. I'm not sure it's worth it because if I add mods to the car won't it just invalidate the warranty (throwing away a good $1,800)?
