Default Well, not everything is time consuming or difficult or costly to repair...

This past Sunday, driving on the highway, a warning light comes on the dash about my brake lights, along with a loud beep. Mostly aggravated, but not wanting to deal with the beep going off repeatedly, I wondered how much was involved getting at the light assembly. Also in the back of my mind, was wondering if it might not be the bulb, but instead some other electrical gremlin. In my wife's MDX you have to pull the whole assembly to get at the bulbs. We had an old Isuzu that required you to replace the whole assembly for the headlight, it didn't have individual bulbs. Anyway, checked in back and found the assembly and was able to pull the bulb out in about 30 seconds. Then thought I might have trouble finding an auto parts store open on Sunday, but found that too, got two bulbs for $3 and had it back in and working a minute later. Love it when things come together so smoothly and easily. These days, with cars getting more and more complicated, experiences like that are rarer and rarer.

Default lol - that happened to me, too. Except

I'd been having some other gremlins setting off warnings, so I was convinced that the brake light warning was bogus. I spent two days wondering what it could be before I realized it really was a brake light bulb. Doh!

I was surprised that the bulbs weren't held by a pinch bolt and wired to the ECM...
