Moving my daughter back from Toronto was an experieince for the allroad and my back. A 600 mile return trip. The ar performed flawlessly.
The clutch never slipped, (slow starts), we kept the tach at 2500-3500 on the highways.
Even the Poconos and Catskill mountains climbing on NY 90, PA Interstate 81, 84, 380 and 80 were no problem.
The OEM (self installed) hitch was great, electrics no issue, the MPG suffered greatly, due to the size and over 3000 lbs in tow. (i really think closer to 4000). The ar also had 4 adults and Jake (our new puppy) and a few overnight bags as well.
I noticed that the water temp never ever budged from it center 12:00 positions. The oil temp gauge only increased 25 deg to about 235 and quick cooled back down at rest.
I ran at level two the entire way. Once home I rasied the ar to level 4 lowered the trailer down on a jack stand to unhitch it while still loaded.
At 107K miles, this car still amazes me.

Wow, how did it handle? How was the exhaust note with the
load of the trailer? A little off topic...any road work heading north on 380 or 81 that you can remember, heading up there this weekend after Paolo details the ar.

Great to hear of a good, safe trip with the allroad...I feel your pain on the move
thing...I think at this age they don't stay in one place very long, at least we have found that here...also a good reason to use the truck and the horse trailer...I think we've hauled more furniture than horses

Handle?
This was not something I wanted to find out about. As long as it held the road..and it did..I was happy. When the on ramp said 20...I stayed at 20.
When there were bumps and ripples, the ar help wonderfully even if the trial felt like it was swaying.
FYI..no road work at all out there.

The joke was US Border xing at the Rainbow Bridge/Niagra Fall...
We hand the gate keep our passports.
Customs: "Where do you live:" xxx, NY
Customs: "What's in the Uhaul.:" My daughter's apartment, all stuff we brought her the past year.
Customs: " Anything to declare:" 6 sixpacks of Sleemans Cream Ale? But there are three of us so?
Customs:"OK, have a nice trip home."
They didn't ask to see the inside of the trailer. I was very surprised.
