Default Whats seems to be the consensus on wheel size....

....18x7.5 compared to 18x8.5 etc...

I dont think I want to go 19 but I do want as fat of a tire as possible. Is the 7.5 going to limit my tire selection more than than an 8.5 or will the sidewall just function a little different?

I have 17 x 8.5 for the summer... I love it.

Default I think a 7.5" wide rim is a little narrow. ---------------------

For a Dunlop 9000 Sport 245/45/18, the recommended width is 8 - 9.5 inch see chart at tirerack.com.

I thought the OEM RS6 "winter" wheel (18x7.5) will fit on the 245/45/18

Default It will probably work fine - however, some brands of tires (Dunlop) recommend

wider rims for their Summer performance tires.

Default Just put 18x8.5 rims on...

...with 255/45R18 all-season tires on it. I too wanted a thicker width. These dimensions are close to the 255/40R18 on the RS6, which is what I was going for...

check the chart at Tire Rack - Some Summer tires work with narrow wheels

Default I have the OEM RS6 winter wheel with Nokian NRY's, approved width 7.5-9"...

and a measuring width of 8". They work perfectly in tandem, love them. There is so little sidewall anyway, its not that big of a deal..
