Sounds like Audi is making progress with the Pikes Peak.<ul><li><a href="http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content.mv?cat_code=coverstory&amp;loc_code=in dex&amp;content_code=09243670">http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content.mv?cat_code=coverstory&amp;loc_code=in dex&amp;content_code=09243670</a</li></ul>

Looks like a cross between the AR and the A8 avantismo which was never made. The price? Like an S8??

Default I'm with you. Automobile had a feature on it in the last issue.

While I'm not crazy about the bling-bling wheels or grill, the flexible interior is certainly appealing, as well as what sounds like a potent drive train. Should be ready about the time my allroad falls out of warranty. Though I'm not sure I want to be a beta tester for what's sure to be a complex piece of machinery.

Default Was planning on getting a Touareg to replace my wife's MDX but this looks like a better choice.

Traveling with gear, dog plus twins on the way, the Touareg "way back" cargo area may be too small. The MDX has great space but we really want another vehicle with quattro for travel through snow and beach sand. The MDX awd system isn't great in deep sand.

Price is a concern. Looks like a 4.2 Touareg will cost around $45K.

Default Count me out.

I think that front end with the new Audi corporate grill design gets the Pontiac Aztek styling award. The rest of the vehicle is fine, but I find the front ends of Audi's recent show vehicles to be positively revolting.

I saw a V8 touareg with a few options at the Portland Auto show for 51K! V6 no air suspension!
