Why is my traction control suddenly coming on?
Twice in the past two days, on familar sweeping left hand turns - downhill - the traction control has invoked itself at moderate speeds on dry roads. This has never occurred before in the hundred times I have driven the same ramps, and no code errors are showing up. Any ideas?

2002 with collision repairs
I was broadsided, earlier this year, and had the repairs to the abs, etc, done by the local audi dealer. This is the first time I've had any problems. Any thought that my recent installation of a engine and tip chip could have anything to do with this?

Are you sure it traction control and not throttle cut? After reading your
post about just being chipped, going into throttle cut (caused by overboost) will also light up the ESP light on your dash sometimes in conjunction with your check engine light.
This is caused when the ECU sees a large deviation in the boost requested and what it is actually producting normally from a torn TBB or hose that it leaking.
Just another thought...

I am not sure if the throttle cut or not, but I could definitely feel the inside front tire braking. (It's like having one's Mom in the car with her own set of brakes! "You're going too fast!!!")

my '01 does not flash the ESP light during throttle cut.
I know the both allroad2001 and I are experiencing intermittant false ESP engagement. Steering angle sensor is a good start, but I have zeroed mine out a bunch of times and it does no good. I don't want to buy an ABS module for the high cost and fear that it won't correct the problem.
For now I just turn ESP off when I want to get on it. This has always pretty much been SOP for me anyway.

sounds familiar, here is my old post about it when this was happening to me.
ended up being fixed by replacing an ABS sensor at that wheel.

https://forums.audiworld.com/allroad/msgs/111793.phtml</a
