Default Winter tires

I have problems finding the right winter tires to my Allroad.

I have found 235 x 45 x 17" will they work?

I am planning to use the 17" double spoke wheel

Regards,
Björn

NO. There should be plenty in the correct 225/55-17 size.

Default Re: Winter tires

Just went through that process myself. If you're looking for performance winter tires, as opposed to snow tires, both the Dunlop M2s and the Pirelli 210 Snowsports come in 225/55/17.

I actually opted for the Pirellis in 225/60/16 and got winter wheels (S5s).

Default Not many choices, especially if you stay with 17" wheels. Going to 16" wheels gives you

better snow preformance and more options. But it all depends on your winter driving conditions and needs. I needed a real snow & ice tire, not a performance tire that might get me by. After researching, I narrowed it down to the Blizzak and new Hakka. Finally went with the Blizzak WS-50 on 16"wheels. We've had snow packed and icy roads for a week now and they have been excellent. I suggest you check out AudiWorld's Wheel and Tire Forum (sponsored by The Tire Rack) for more information.

ive been working on this for two weeks
the only option in the correct size is dunlop M
for over $220 per tire.

pilot alpin is sold out and most likely discontinued in this size.
looks like 16" is really the only reasonable solution
